So since I updated this last, I have finished my class. My class was really exciting because I learned a lot about learning in different ways and I am proud of myself for how well I did. I got a 97 in the class, which is the highest score I have ever recieved in a college class! That following week all of my friends left, and so that was a hard week to get up for work. But thank goodness though, I was being trained for the Box Office, which means I am trained in another field for Disney!! Working with money and selling tickets I thought was going to be horrid, but its actually really good! I am now trained in Box office, ESPN Wide World of Sports, Magic Kingdom people control, and a few other things pertaining to people. I started 2 more college classes down here too. They have been keeping me very busy and my brain on learning mode. In addition to these classes starting, I will be moving on the 2nd to my new house because my house mates left :(. I am also working in two different parks. This program has really keeping me busy and learning more and more about the real world. This real world thing isn't that much fun. But at least I'm learning here and now instead of when I'm out on my own in a year. I know this isn't much of a post, but after this weekend I should be able to have a lot to tell you about. Keep checking in with me and posts will come, sorry they are so slow.

april-22-26th

Friday, 27 April 2012 20:30 by cmr007

Oh I forgot to tell you in the last post, at ESPN, we had the worlds best acrobatic gymnists from all over the world. They were here for 2 weeks, and the their ages were from 8-20+ with two different sections. The older groups were amazing!! They were broadcasted live on ESPN3. Some of the teams were from Russian, Great Britian, Germany, USA, Bulagaria, Netherlands, China, Mexico and many more. We had over 600 athletes competeing! I can't even explain how wonderful these guys really were. They were so nice, the coaches I got to meet were wonderful too! Well starting on the 22nd after work, I went out to House of Blues, like the girls and I always do, plus it was Sarah's Birthday. I met these really nice guys, turns out they were the gymnasts from Great Britian! Jack and Chris were so nice, and were increadble at dancing and I'm sorry but I have to say I've never seen such rock of a body! They are true athletes! So after that Monday came along, which I had to go to Hollywood Studios because I was deployed over there for 2 days. I had to go get my new costume afterwards I met up with Sarah and our rest of our housemates at Epcot for Sarah's 22nd birthday. It was nice to spend time with her and my housemates/friends before everyone leaves in a few weeks.  Then the 24th was my first day at Hollywood Studios, where I  worked the front gate. And that day flew by!! It was a good day and didn't mind seeing something new and meeting new people. The 25th was my last day there, but that day I had more ESPN workers with me and that day flew by faster than the day before. Afterwards I went to tge Indiana Jones show because my one friend is the stunt man and so i went to watch him....which i have to say everyone should go see it, because it's a wonderful show!! Moving on to the 26th, was my class day, we had presentations. Can I say we did something extra than any other group did, we had them get up, get into groups and come visit one member of the group at a time and we would tell them about our presentation. At the end we looked up and our professor was crying! She said this is why she keeps teaching and loved our prestetation! At the end we found out 80 points were for our paper we go it 78+10, or presentation was 20 points we got 20+10 so over all we got 118!! This was such a great feeling! Knowing we had such a great teacher, class, and that this class wasn't easy, we scored very well on our presentation. I thanked her so much and just was so glad I had this experience! Now today is the 27th and I'm getting ready for work. We have Cheerleaders today, so I'm hoping that today is going to be great, but knowing ESPN and Disney it's going to be great!

recap from march 16th-april 21st

Thursday, 26 April 2012 07:46 by cmr007

Sorry here is a recap from March 16th till April 21st.

Starting on the 16th was the last Braves game I got to work. It was the Braves vs. Yankees game I got to work where I was pulled aside and told by my manager that ESPN asked for me to help broadcast the game live! So instead of being in the stadium doing my normal job I got to walk around with the camera crew on the field, in the dugouts, and the bullpen! This was such an incredible time!!! As the team was warming up, we were standing on the field, and Jason Haywood came up to start his batting practice. He saw me, started to talk to me, we talked as friends a few times before then too, and the broadcasters just looked at me. After he left, they were like how did you do that? I was just explaining to them he’s just a guy and he’s my age. Then Eddie Perez came into the dugout, which I played catch with him during games, and he took care of me a few times. He came up to me and we started talking. I told him this is my last game, and he won’t see me again, except I’ll see him on TV! Ha but he gave me a hug and said well see each other around. By this time it’s about the time for the game to start! So were going around the entire stadium to get shots of the crowd and players. Then about the bottom of the 4th we had to get interviews of the Yankees coach and the Braves coach. Which I have to say the Yankees were the rudest people I ever met. When we went into the Braves dugout, the guys just looked at me, because girls never go down there during games. But Jason waved to me, and a few of the other players I knew waved. We interviewed the coach and everyone was so nice and relaxed! At the end of the game, I got to know all of the camera crew and I learned that my major is what I really want to do! So I thanked the ESPN crew and my major and thought this was the hardest day I worked but I really enjoyed every moment of it! I was so thankful!! The reason why I wasn't going to be at the last 3 games of spring season was because I was coming HOME!!! From March 15-April 4th I came home. I spent 3 days at LVC and then 3 days back at home. When I visited LVC I checked in with my advisor, and with my other wonderful fellow employees. I scheduled my classes for my summer down here in Florida and I’ll be back for senior year!! It was Relay For Life weekend, when I visited LVC, so I got to be there and support my friends and family that had been cursed by this horrid curse. Spending time with my friends and getting to go out with them and chill was such a great vacation! Then I went home for the family Easter reunion, and had incredible food!!! Spending time with family and friends and my doggie, Belle, at home was the icing on the cake!! It was great! Well of course the things you enjoy the most always fly by! So before I knew it, it was time to head back to Florida. But if you think about it heading back to Florida and Disney World is really not a bad thing at all. Ha, the week that I came back I worked a lot, and I worked on my paper that was due for my class down here. Which was a much harder class than I thought it was going to be, but it ended up being one of the best classes I ever took. The professor was the best professor I have ever had, she was so caring, into what she was teaching, and ended up being so honest with what she thought of our work. Then the week of April 16-19th, Steph came down to visit!! So I got a few days off, the first day we went to Downtown Disney, walked around and just enjoyed ourselves. On that Tuesday, we went to 3 out of the 4 parks, which was a lot of traveling, but we had a ton of fun! Then Wednesday came around and we took a day trip down to MIMIA!!! This was a first for both of us! It was so nice! The water, the beaches, and the group we went with was so much fun!! Then the next day Steph left and I had class. And now I’m all caught up!

It has been to long since I posted. Well, about a week ago when I was working a Braves game, I worked signing area. I am friends with Mike Minor, so I got to see him a few times and chat with him. It was nice because I got to meet people from around the world when they came to get signatures. I played catch with Eddie Permez, the player from the Braves 1995 Team and went All-American. He gave me a bowl of brownies, and after the game he came up to me and gave me a hug and signed some baseballs. I also met Jason Hayward during that game too. He's such a nice guy! Well that was one game. The game before the Braves game, I met Chippers' wife, who is super nice. But besides meeting the players, my job is going great! I met tons of people, I get to watch sports, and I get to meet broadcasters from different TV stations. But yesterday at work, I went into the ESPN broadcasting station. where I got to see a ton of behind the scenes and where the magic is made. With my manager pushing me, he was able to help me get one step closer to my dreams! I just can't explain how happy and thankful I am of my new job! I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense, I'm tired but I realized that I haven't posted in ages! :/ But life down here is wonderful! Sunday night I went out with my roommate to the House of Blues, and met up with some of the Braves players. That was a good night! Hmm let's see, I have been enjoying going out down here. I went on my first real date in ages. He picked me up, opened my doors, we went to supper, we walked around this cute little boardwalk thing, and got Krispy Kreme donuts. It was so cute and a nice date! Well tomorrow is Wednesday 28th and the Braves play the Yankees so it's going to be a crazy, busy game. I went to the water park, Typhoon Lagoon, swam with sharks, and relaxed outside and got some good color. This is random but it's a blog right!? Lol. The weather has been mid 80s all week, and it's legit the best weather ever! Well off to bed. I have work tomorrow and there will be posts soon, because something HUGE is happening this week but I can't tell you about till another 2 days.

Yesterday was the 6th. I thought it was going to be another normal day at work (if it’s possible to have a normal day at ESPN). So there was a Braves game yesterday they played Washington. They lost 5-2 but it was a good game. I got to be an usher, so I got to watch the whole game. I got to interact with the fans. At the end of the game I got to go on the field, and help the children run the bases. So I got to be on the Braves field, which was such an amazing chance. This is making me happier with what I want to do with my job choice. But after being on the field, all the ushers got to clean up the stadium. I learned that I will throw my peanuts and my food away. Because cleaning it up afterwards really stinks. But then my work day was over. I came home, finished typing my paper for my class, and then went shopping. Which I finally got my skinny jeans and Sperry’s! :D Today is the 7th and I work from 2:30 till 8:30...so it’s not too bad, also its going to be in the mid-70s so it could be a little warmer, but I won't complain because its way better than PA! Haha. Tomorrow is class day and then off to visit with my Stepmom for the weekend! :D

This week has been AMAZING! Can I tell you, working at ESPN has to be the best job for me ever! I started working there a few days ago, the first day I got to see the Michigan lacrosse team practice. The second day I got to meet the head Michigan lacrosse coach and a few of the players. I got to see the Braves getting their pictures taken, and meet a few of the players. The people there are so extremely nice. But today this day was the best day anyone could have. To start off the day, I met a braves coach, I asked him to make a dea. I said," you can use our microwave(because he needed one) if he introduced me to Mike Minor. Well he said sure why not?! So i got to talk to Mike Minor for about 15 min, he introduced me to a few of the players and talked about normal converstation things....I still can't believe it. Later in the day, we passed him and a few of his team mates, and he yelled over and said, "hey charlie!" right in front of his teammates and me in front of my coworkers. It was such an amazing freak out moment. and you think it couldnt get any better. I was being taken on a private tour under the baseball staduim, we were in the tunnels, we were standing in front of the locker room. A player came out, and then right after him it was MIke again. Smiles and names were said again...but we both had a good smirk/chuckle...such a great time. then along with the tour, we got to stand and check out the visitors locker room where the Tigers will be staying tomorrow. I also got to go to the dugout for the Tigers, and look out to the field to see where the players come out. the real kicker was I got to drink out of the water fountian out of the dougout where all the visiting teams drink out of. I though it was pretty legit day! the training went alright, but the perks through out the day were amazing. so right before it was time to leave. i meet this man, he is the head broadcaster of many stations, and all of what is going on at every live game at ESPN WWOS (wide world of sports). We talked, and he said he would come get me, show me the ropes, let me follow, and be with them for a whole live game. and see if this is really what i truly want to do. WOW is all i can say. he was so nice, and wanting to help. it made me laugh first thing he asked me was," im sorry, is a laughing state, why would u wanna be a broadcaster?!"...my answer," im obessed with sports and LOVE to talk." welp that would do it he said, and sounds like you have a drive to do it. then we did some work at the front gate, and it was time to go. just a great day at work. it flew, i really hope i am lucky to find a job like this when i have a real job. because this is too nice and so close in everything i want to do. but after work i came home, ate a little, and got in a car with a coworker. went back to ESPN WWOS and watched the MIchigan Softball team play in a tournament. which was pretty cool. they are 2-0 now, and had a game right after. but didnt stay because tomorrow is the first Braves games and i have work at 530am. But starting as the first pitcher im pretty sure its Mike, so sorry Tigers, but I think ill be cheering for the Braves a little harder each time you play them now. ha but off to bed now, but thats the recap of my last few days in disney. also the weather has been amazing! mid 80s and nice breeze, its been nice. (sorry grammar people that read this blog, im dead tired and im not going back to see what is wrong, so next time ill try to check the new one but this one will have errors). but two things to end this off with is....GO BLUE and GO BRAVES!!!

I thought I’d share the great news with the blog world. I had a little bit of change in my plans down here at Disney. I have been sick for a while now, and so this was not safe for my job. So long story short, they gave me a new job. So I am no longer a Lifeguard...which I am totally alright with. Now I am working at ESPN Wide World of Sports! This could not have been a more perfect job! With my dream of becoming a sports broadcaster for ESPN...I hope and pray this could be a great way to get my foot in the door. Yes, its not going to be that great of a job, but lets be serious. We all have to start from the bottom and work our way up to where we want to be. I have my first day of work on Tuesday. Watch for updates and see how this new job is! Also, the Braves are coming in and starting their spring training games. For the rest of the day, I think it's going be, read for class, start a paper, watch a few episodes on Netflix’s, and fit in a nap. I think this should be relaxing for my sick body....if this isn’t I’d like to see what is. So far, this internship has been a roller-coaster...but I am making the best of every turn and hill. I enjoy my housemates, my friends, Florida, the warm weather, and mostly having this chance to study and learn how the real world actually is!

Good morning, the last few days I have been sick and trying to take care of myself. But I think I slept way to much yesterday, because I woke up at 730 A.M. this morning! There hasn’t been too much excitement down here. Oh wait, I think I didn’t talk about my Mom visiting. Well my Mom came down for Valentines' Day and stayed here a few days for her vacation. It was a great visit, because I got to go to the parks. We rode some rides, I showed her around the parks (the quick ways, with less crowds), and we took some great pictures. I also got to take Mom to a great show and meal. Its called the Hoop-Dee-Doo Show. There was amazing food and great crowd interaction! It was a nice time, to get to spend time with someone from home. Like I told my Mom. I’m not home sick, but I’m friend sick. Ha, I'm making wonderful friends down here, I love my class, and Florida is nice. But I realized LVC is such a great place, with friends that I will always have and never want to loose contact with any of them. But on todays schedule, I have my class from 1:30-4:30. Then there having a welcoming event right behind my building for all the college program people. So my housemates and I will walk over and get some free supper...thats always the best! Then after that probably go relax and get some more sleep. Mostly trying to heal my body before I have to go back to work on Friday.

This is the room my mom stayed at. Its a pirate room!

This is a pirate bed...Its a boat!

This is some of the things they have you do at hoop-dee-doo show

Just a cute picture with my mommy.

So today I had my first day of college classes at Disney! This class seems like it’s going be a good class, since my professor is really funny. It looks like I will get a lot out of this class and my fingers are crossed. After class, I went with two friends to Epcot for food and to walk around the World Showcase. Other than that, there really isn’t anything new here. I’m just going back to work tomorrow, until my mom visits in a few days. We will have cold weather all week...should be mid 60s and low 70s. I also thought I’d tell blog world, I got time off, purchased my plane ticket, and I’m now waiting until March to be back, visiting LVC! Now I’m heading off to bed, to go to work early tomorrow!

Hey blog world! I realized that the last time I posted was the week I moved in, and now it's almost been a month since I’ve been down here! How time flies! It's been a great time! I’ve became a Disney Lifeguard at the Pop Century Resort and the Caribbean Beach Resort. This job is so stressful, I'm trying to enjoy my job and look at the positive side of things. Other than that, I’m having a wonderful time. I worked 6 days in a row this last week, so I really haven’t been able do much. Today was my first day off, so I went to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom. It was nice to walk around, ride rides, and enjoy my time with friends. This experience is so much fun!! I can go out clubbing with friends, go to the parks, or really do anything you can think of. My college class starts on Thursday, the 9th, so I'm excited to see how this class is gonna be different from LVC. Lol. My friends down here are so nice, they are from all over the world! It's nuts how we are from different places, and be alike in so many ways. I am also good friends with Prince Charming...when I found this out, I thouht that this was the coolest thing I have found out in ages! Ha, it's been my excitement lately. I hear LVC is doing well in sports, and I miss everyone at home, but I am really enjoying Florida and the warm weather. I wish I could kidnap all of my friends from LVC and bring them here, that would be a perfect world! Haha sorry, I’m all over the place, but I’m not sure really what to talk about. Tomorrow is going to be clean up day, laundry, maybe get on a bus and go to the store (which might take around 3 hours so I'm not looking forward to that), and then they have another casting party for us tomorrow. So I will go hit it up, try to meet new people, some free food (I never thought I would miss LVC cafeteria food, but I really do!), and get my groove on! I think I might go to bed now, so this is good for now, and I will try to post in the next few days!

Here are some photos of my job, park visits, and just some nice times!

Hey there big guy!

This is one of the best rides ever! I had such a good time with my friend, it was my first time riding!

Right before Sorin' started, that was such a fun and busy day around the parks!
