Here's a bonus post this week, to make up for not posting last week.  Please note the deadline---it's coming up within a week.

Call for Sessions and Invited Performing Groups are Due: April 1, 2009

Hello,
The 2010 American String Teachers Association Conference will be held in Santa Clara, CA  February 18-20, 2010.

The online call for Session Proposals are due by
11:59 p.m. on Wednesday April 1, 2009.

The Invited Performing Groups Application must be postmarked
by April 1, 2009.

We are seeking sessions related to any aspect of teaching or performance representing cello, double bass, guitar, harp, viola, violin, as well as string chamber music, string orchestra and symphony orchestra. 

1.  The conference committee will not accept proposals or sessions that promote individual commercial products.

2.  Exhibitor Showcase applications (sessions promoting commercial products) are available through the exhibitor prospectus and must be reserved by the sponsoring company.

3.  All applicants must be current members of ASTA at the time of application and also at the time of conference.

4.  No paper applications will be accepted. 

5.  If you wish to submit a research poster the deadline is not until October 3, 2009. 


Call for Invited Performing Groups

ASTA is seeking Performing Groups to perform at the 2010 conference. 

The submission requirements are:
1.  A completed application form.  You can find the form at:

2.  A recent CD recording (DVD's will not be accepted)

3.  A Conductor's bio

4.  A list of the group's most significant performance/accomplishments
for each of the past three years:  2006,2007,2008
