Our visiting professor this summer is Dr. Hilary Apfelstadt, Professor of Choral Studies and Director of Choral Activities at The Ohio State University. Her choirs have performed at regional and national conventions of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and at state and regional conferences of the National Association of Music Education (MENC). She has conducted many honor choirs and all-state choruses in Canada, the United States and in Cuba, and guest conducted in Europe. In 2009, she conducted the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in a public broadcast of Music and the Spoken Word. A prolific author, Dr. Apfelstadt has published over 70 articles on choral music in various refereed journals, and has written two chapters in Wisdom, Wit and Will: Women Conductors on their Art, (GIA, 2009). She serves on the editorial boards of both the International Journal of Research in Choral Singing and The Choral Scholar, the official publication of the National Collegiate Conductors Organization (NCCO). She is currently national Vice-President of ACDA. I am certain you will enjoy her course, The Complete Choral Conductor.
