Greetings and welcome to the new blog for the Master of Music Education degree program at Lebanon Valley College. Through this resource, faculty, students, prospective students, and guests can share information related to all facets of the degree process and to music education in general. Please don't hesitate to contact me at dura@lvc.edu if there is an article, announcement, link, question, or information you'd like to see posted here.
In this first message, I’d like to call your attention to a new music education resource, the Music Educators of Pennsylvania network, http://pamusiceducators.ning.com/. This website, created by LVC’s Dr. Barry Hill, is a place for music educators to share ideas and work together to make music education exciting and relevant in today’s world. Please visit and consider becoming a member. The more people contributing, the more useful the resource becomes for all of us.
Also of interest is the following announcement from the Northwestern University doctoral research center:
On Wednesday, February 11th, we will host the first of our four Music Education Master Classes for 2009. The focus for this year is Improvisation in Music Teaching and Learning. To drum up interest, the first presentation is going to be webcast, LIVE, from 6:00 to 7:00 CST. Please join the Northwestern Music Education community and our presenter, Ed Sarath, to explore new directions in music education. Musically yours,
