Hello!
I’m so thrilled to be back in the central PA and proud to be part of the Lebanon Valley family. Since July, I have had the pleasure of meeting most of you and I look forward to our interaction during this academic year. My job is developing and implementing programs and services that will assist our college’s retention efforts.
To achieve that end, my goals are as follows:
1. Assist first year students with the transition to college life and LVC by providing the tools and strategies to enhance their academic and personal success.
2. Provide students with the opportunity to achieve their full potential by helping them understand their responsibilities in the learning process.
3. Oversee the advising process for open majors.
4. Work closely with students who have been identified in the early alert process.
On the Peer Tutoring front – the “honeymoon” phase is over for students and they are now actively trying to determine the amount of time and effort it will take to be academically successful. Students should seek out our academic resources when they feel that they need assistance with their coursework. After contacting professors directly, Peer tutoring and the Writing Center are the next lines of defense. However, we don’t always have enough tutors to go around for some subject areas. The best source for recruiting tutors is requesting recommendations from our faculty. I appreciate all recommendations that have been made and look forward to your continued support.
I look forward to working with all of you to help support our students academically.
