HERI Faculty Survey

On a three-year cycle, the College participates in a survey through the Higher Research Institute (HERI).  The last HERI survey was administered in 2007-2008 - this year marks another round of data collection.

For those that are not familiar with the HERI survey, it collects data about faculty demographics, activities, perceptions of LVC, methods of teaching, job satisfaction, and other areas related to academe.  We use this data to benchmark against previous surveys and to shape discussions and planning to better the academic and work-related environment.   The data also compares LVC with 4-year private institutions nationwide, another important benchmark for the College.

I would urge all faculty to take the time to respond to this survey.  The closer we are to 100% participation, the better and more reliable the data.   In addition, this very timely data will be included in our Middle States Self-Study.

As with the last administration of the survey, we will share the results with the faculty once it becomes available.

Thank you for taking the time to participate.
