So these are my awesome friends, and seeing as everything I do here I do with them, they shall no longer go unnamed. From left to right we have Matt, me, Nick, Shaddi, and Josh.

The three preceding pictures were from inside 49 Palms Oasis, and the picture below is from outside. I'm not sure if there are actually 49 palm trees...

The San Andreas Fault Line is in the above picture. In the picture below, the Salton Sea is visible just above the mountains on the top left.

Hello Heather! I have been diligently following your posts and viewing your photos. I am in awe over the beautiful views you have captured on your weekend trips. Your ability to describe your experiences in such detail keep me captivated and wanting to hear more. I would love to be in the deserts of California! Over the Fourth of July weekend we went hiking in the Wichita Mountains in Oklahoma. The sites there were just as amazing as yours and the wildlife we were exposed to will probably be something I never get to experience again. We hiked with wild bison, elk, longhorns, scorpions, tarantulas and so many different types of snakes and lizards. I captured several photos of Colored Lizards which looked amazing. They were a light orange starting at their head and as you worked your way down their body the colors changed from orange to red to green to blue. The plant life was also amazing. There were many types of cacti growing wild. The temperature reached 110 during the high point of the day and we looked as though we had just been removed from the oven after being toasted. I am anxiously waiting for your next post! Thank you for sharing your experiences with us!
