Forwarding LVC Student Email

20. July 2011
Author: zeigler

Students may forward their LVC email to a non-LVC email service at their own risk. The College neither guarantees nor takes responsibility for the delivery, security or privacy of email messages once they leave the LVC network or LVC-hosted services.

Follow these steps to forward your LVC student email to another email account:

Forwarding Webmail

  1. Log into your student email account at MyLVC
  2. Click on Options.
  3. Click on Personalize to personalize your WebMail account.
  4. Scroll down near the bottom of the page and look for the Forwarding section.
  5. Check Enable Forwarding, and fill in the email address where you want campus email to be forwarded.
  6. Check Retain Copy so messages are not deleted from WebMail.
  7. Save your new settings.
  8. Test your settings by sending an email message to your LVC email account. Check the account you are forwarding to to verify that the message is received.

    26. March 2009
    Author: shapiro

How to diagnose and defeat the dangerous Conficker worm

"If your computer has Sophos Antivirus installed either by LVC or installed from the LVC antivirus website you will not be affected by this worm."

    From Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/962007

If your computer is infected with this worm, you may not experience any symptoms, or you may experience any of the following symptoms:

    • Account lockout policies are being tripped.
    • Automatic Updates, Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS), Windows Defender, and Error Reporting Services are disabled.
    • Domain controllers respond slowly to client requests.
    • The network is congested.
    • Various security-related Web sites cannot be accessed.
For more information about Win32/Conficker.b, visit the following Microsoft Malware Protection Center Web page: http://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/Entry.aspx?Name=Win32/Conficker

The USA Today posted a great article on March 26th that helps you identify the Conficker worm.
