Each Android phone manufacturer has custom apps for email. The steps and descriptions may be slightly different based on the manufacturer but all should require the following information.
Exchange Email
Go to the Settings app
Tap Accounts & Sync
Tap Add Account
Tap Exchange Active Sync
Enter your Email, Server, Domain, Username, Password using the following information:
- Email address: enter your LVC email address, including @lvc.edu
- Server address: lvcemail.lvc.edu
- Domain: lvc.edu
- Username: LVC username (do not include @lvc.edu)
- Password*: enter your LVC user account password.
Notes*: Android phones only support one Exchange account at a time. If you already have an Exchange account set up on your phone, you can retrieve your LVC Exchange email via an iMap account. See Configuring iMap Settings below.
A note about passwords: Remember, if you change your LVC password, you need to return to the Settings and modify your password.
Configuring iMap Settings
Go to Email app
From your app menu, choose New Account
Enter your Email, Username, Password, Protocol, Server Address, and Security Type using the following information:
Incoming Settings
- Email address: enter your LVC email address, including @lvc.edu
- Password*: enter your LVC user account password.
- Press Next
- Protocol: iMap
- Confirm Email Address
- Enter Username: LVC username (do not include @lvc.edu)
- iMap Server address: lvcemail.lvc.edu
- Security Type: SSL
- Server Port: 993
- Tap Next to enter Outgoing Settings
Outgoing Settings
- Enter Username: LVC username (do not include @lvc.edu)
- Password*: enter your LVC user account password.
- iMap Server address: lvcemail.lvc.edu
- Security Type: TLS
- Server Port: 25
- Tap Next
