Lebanon Valley College is participating for the first time in the One Book, One Community (OBOC) program. OBOC is known as Central Pennsylvania's regional reading campaign. The goal of the program is to encourage dialogue about a particular
book, foster lifelong learning and the development of a strong
community identity. This year’s selection is the The Cellist of Sarajevo
by Steven Galloway.
Bishop library has ten copies of this book and one audio book on display across from the Circulation Desk. Look for the Cello! In addition, if you wish to purchase your own copy of the book please visit the College Store. Also on display at the library you will find similar themed books and DVDs.
To encourage campus dialogue the library has two major events planned:
- Lunch & Book Discussion - Thursday, Oct 17, 2013: 11 a.m. - Frock Conference Room
Join the campus conversation about this regional read at Bishop Library and enjoy a FREE pizza lunch. REGISTER ON REDBOOK or email email@example.com.
- Cello Concert - Thursday, Oct 24, 2013: 7:30 p.m. - Bishop Library
Dr. Marie-Aline Cadieux will perform selected pieces to compliment the OBOC read. Dr. Cadieux is a Professor of Music at Kutztown University and Adjunct Professor of Music at Lebanon Valley College.
